IC Foundation

The mission of İbrahim Çeçen Foundation is to contribute to the solving of the education and health problems of Turkey and in raising its culture and welfare level. In line with this aim, Ağrı province, where our founder Mr. Çeçen was born and grew up, has been selected as a pilot area. As İbrahim Çeçen Foundation, we maintain our activities in cooperation with different organizations and institutions in order to contribute to the solving the problems of our country.

IC İbrahim Çeçen Foundation has been supporting young athletes in various branches through athletic grants since 2005 in order to encourage the youth to practice sports. Moreover, we grant sponsorship support for different local and national sports organizations.

Within the scope of investments in the field of education, the following institutions have been provided for Turkey’s education-training system as donations:
  • Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen Primary School which started its educational activities in 1986 with 25 classrooms for 1400 children;
  • Nezahat Çeçen Primary School which is located in Erzincan province started its educational activities in 1992;
  • Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University inaugurated in 2009 to provide education for 20.000 students in the short term.

The most prominent indicator of the contribution made by Mr. İbrahim Çeçen to Turkey’s education is the Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University which started its educational activities in the academic year of 2009-2010. The construction activities of the university, which will be donated completely to the state, continue at a fast pace. The total amount of funds reserved for physical investments and social support of the Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University project is nearly USD 60 million and this will be utilized between 2008 and 2015.


İbrahim Çeçen Scolarships

İbrahim Çeçen, who put great emphasis on education, has granted scholarships to 4.052 students since 1987 untill the establishment of the IC Foundation. After the establishment of the foundation, granting scholarships to successful yet financially challenged students all around Turkey has continued.
Under the scope of an event that took place in June 2006 marked the beginning of a philanthropic project, which provided 106 scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students by bringing philanthropic individuals and organizations together with financially challenged students.

The ongoing project gets volunteers that do not know how to reach students, together with students of their own choosing based on the criteria they prefer :
  • Non-Governmental Organization (Ngo) Trainings: The scope of the NGO trainings was civil society and volunteering, philanthropy and civil society movements.
  • Civil society and volunteering, philanthropy and civil society movements.
  • Vocational Training Courses: İbrahim Çeçen Foundation organizes vocational training courses to generate solutions for unemployment, which is the biggest issue of pilot region Ağrı.
  • Personal Development Seminars: In order to contribute to the personal development of scholarship holders, many personal seminars were organized.
  • Foreign Language Courses And College Preparation Courses: At certain periods, İbrahim Çeçen Foundation cooperates with various organizations to provide the opportunity to send foundation’s students to foreign language courses.
  • Internships: İbrahim Çeçen Foundation provides internship opportunities every year to prepare its successful students to business environment as well as contributing to their personal development. The IC Foundation is currently providing educational scholarships to over 600 students in Turkey.

Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen Üniversitesi

Formerly known as Ağrı Dağı University, Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University is located in the central district within city limits of Ağrı, Turkey. The university set its objective as contributing to the education and science as well as developing the region in the social, economic and cultural senses.

The total of funds and physical investments of the supporting projects for Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University is approximately 60 million dollars and planned to be implemented between 2008 and 2015 years.

In addition to physically constructing and donating the campus and buildings thereof, the activities that will support Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University in social and cultural terms from its foundation onwards, will be organized via the recently initiated IC Foundation. Some of these projects have been planned as foreign sister universities, supporting lecturer and student exchange programs, and making contributions in the EU and other fund originated projects.
